Think of animal prints as nature's neutrals

Embraced as an inspiring alternative to solid neutrals, animal prints evoke the excitement of escaping to exotic lands with balmy climates. They connect us to nature and, when done well, offer beautiful texture, tone and glamour to interiors. The striking Kylie occasional chair (above), upholstered in a luxurious woven leopard chenille velvet, effortlessly complements the timeless tones of the black and antique gold furnishings .. adding a gorgeous injection of luxe pattern and personality.

Versatile Pieces

The introduction of prints and patterns to interior spaces have the ability to change the entire feel of a room. Whether bold or subtle, they act as an effective device to bring colour, interest and individuality to the home - transporting us to a time, place or mood. Using a mix of patterns, whether on furniture, floors or walls, has the power to create either a calming cocoon or add excitement and drama. Here the Candace stools in leopard chenille are paired for additional seating in an otherwise neutral interior. Small adaptable pieces like this are an easy way to add animal prints to your room without a long-term commitment. Co-ordinating with the 'Deconstructed' oil painting, these pieces add texture and movement to this living room space.

One of the easiest ways to incorporate animal prints into your interiors is with cushions and accessories. Adding pattern and personality, the Serene feather cushion range in quality woven leopard chenille velvet offers a striking alternative to plain coloured neutrals. Delivering on the energy of warm, exotic locations, this elegant cushion provides a glamourous accent when combined with solid neutrals or offers a grounding ‘nature neutral’ alternative to solids when repeated in multiples. If you're a colour and pattern lover, simply combine these with an eclectic mix of patterns, colours and textures for a chic alternative.

Rug Grounding

Animal prints can work with a wide variety of decorating styles. When decorating with animal prints, an area rug in patterns inspired by zebras, leopards, and giraffes make high-impact statements as floor coverings. However, animal prints don't need to be limited to the wild ... cow hides can create a bold modern statement and offer soft organic shapes which offset the graphic nature of modern furniture pieces and keep things looking fresh.

Subtle Accents

Animal prints don't have to be in-your-face to make an impact. The ivory and silver giraffe inspired rug styled here in our Studio collection anchors this neutral room adding subtle tone and texture with its gentle tones, maintaining a timeless aesthetic. The Ashe lamp below, with its snake inspired texture is a great example of incorporating the animal print trend into your current space in a subtle way.
